Azerbaijan to Implement Hourly Wage System


Baku: A new hourly wage system will be introduced in Azerbaijan, implemented through amendments to the Labor Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev announced this development during an international conference on “The Impact of Digitization and Artificial Intelligence on Workplaces.” The conference was dedicated to World Labour Protection Day and the 120th anniversary of the first collective agreement. Minister Aliyev emphasized the ministry’s ongoing efforts to improve labor relations in the country.



Minister Aliyev revealed that nearly 200 amendments to the Labor Code are under consideration. These changes aim to regulate remote work, introduce the hourly wage system, ensure equal pay for equal work, and eliminate discrimination against employees with family members and women. The amendments also address other related issues to enhance the labor landscape in Azerbaijan.
