Azerbaijan Sees Significant Rise in Electricity Exports


Baku: Azerbaijan reported a substantial increase in its electricity exports for the first half of the year. The country exported 709.9 million kWh of electricity from January to June, marking a 59.9% rise compared to the same period last year.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the operational data from the Ministry of Energy also revealed a decline in electricity imports. During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 81.1 million kWh of electricity, which is 15.9% less than the same timeframe in the previous year.



Additionally, preliminary data for the first half of 2025 indicated that electricity production within the republic reached 13,849.3 million kWh. This reflects an increase of 2.2%, amounting to an additional 291.5 million kWh in production.
