Azerbaijan Raises Age Limit for Constitutional Court Judges’ Term of Office

Baku: The age limit for the term of office of judges serving on Azerbaijan’s Constitutional Court is being increased. President Ilham Aliyev has signed into law amendments to the Republic of Azerbaijan’s legislation regarding the Constitutional Court, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the newly enacted law raises the age limit for the term of office of a judge on the Constitutional Court from 70 to 75. These changes are part of an effort to extend the service period of judges within the country’s highest constitutional body.
