Baku:The Azerbaijani government is set to increase the state fee for issuing veterinary passports to AZN 30, reflecting a significant change in policy.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the proposed amendment to the Law “On State Duty” will raise the current fee from AZN 20 to AZN 30. This adjustment is part of efforts to accommodate the growing number of applications and the associated financial demands.
The necessity for veterinary passports in Azerbaijan is underscored by the “Rules for Keeping Dogs, Cats and Other Pets in Settlements of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” which mandates such documentation for the transportation of pets abroad. This requirement has led to 2,073 veterinary passport applications being processed in 2024 and 2,114 in 2025.
The increased fee is intended to address the financial resources needed for the issuance of these passports, taking into account the rise in applications and other related expenses.
