Azerbaijan Parliament Halts All Cooperation with European Parliament

Baku: Azerbaijan’s Parliament, the Milli Majlis, has decided to suspend cooperation with the European Parliament across all areas. This decision follows the inclusion of the issue on the agenda of the plenary session held on May 1, where Deputy Speaker Ziyafet Asgarov presented the text of the decision.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Milli Majlis has resolved to cease its participation in the EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee. Additionally, steps have been taken to initiate procedures for terminating membership in the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, in line with its charter. During the procedural period, the Azerbaijani delegation will abstain from participating in events organized by the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
