Accra:The Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND) has introduced 61 new state standards for railway and road transport. This initiative is under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, overseen by the President of Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the new standards aim to enhance the reliability of transport infrastructure and ensure road safety. They focus on improving vehicle classification and terminology, setting requirements for cargo securing during transit, and standardizing technical equipment and systems to align with international standards.
The adoption of these standards was based on proposals from the Technical Committee on Standardization for Transport and Transport Infrastructure (AZSTAND/TC 43), part of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. These standards have now been integrated into the State Fund of Normative Documents on Standardization.
