Prague:Azerbaijan showcased its diverse tourism potential to Czech travel professionals at the AVIAREPS Around the World Roadshow 2026, held on October 19-20 in Prague and Brno. With its rich Silk Road heritage, vibrant capital, and year-round mountain experiences, the country presented a wide range of tourism offerings to the Czech market.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event was organized by AVIAREPS, an international representation, marketing, and public relations company specializing in aviation, tourism, and hospitality. It provided a platform to promote Azerbaijan as a travel destination.
The program featured meetings with around 40 travel agents and tour operators, offering an opportunity to highlight Azerbaijan’s appeal to travelers seeking cultural experiences and outdoor adventures. Key attractions presented included Baku’s historic landmarks and modern urban life, Shaki’s Silk Road heritage, and the country’s rich cultural traditions. Skiing in the Greater Caucasus Mountains and hiking through diverse natural landscapes were also emphasized as part of Azerbaijan’s year-round tourism potential.
Direct flights between Prague and Baku operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) provide convenient connections for Czech travelers. Additionally, Azerbaijan’s electronic visa system facilitates travel planning, allowing Czech citizens to apply through evisa.gov.az, with standard applications processed within three working days and urgent applications within three to five hours. The e-visa is valid for 90 days and permits stays of up to 30 days.
Azerbaijan’s participation in the roadshow came amid growing interest from the Czech market, with arrivals from Czechia increasing by 10.5% in January-September 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The roadshow provided a valuable platform to strengthen professional ties, raise awareness of Azerbaijan’s tourism offerings, and foster new partnerships aimed at attracting more Czech travelers to the country.
