Baku: An increase in seasonal acute respiratory viruses, coupled with the severe course of influenza and other infections, is contributing to a heightened risk of pneumonia, announced the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health. Delayed medical consultations and weakened immunity are also factors that may lead to pneumonia, as addressed in response to an inquiry from APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the spread of airborne infections is accelerated by the concentration of people in enclosed and poorly ventilated areas. The Ministry emphasized the importance of complying with sanitary rules and maintaining collective immunity to limit the spread of infection. Individuals who are considered part of risk groups are specifically advised to avoid crowded places.
The center highlighted that isolating individuals who exhibit the first clinical signs of respiratory diseases is crucial in preventing further transmission. The epidemiological situation regarding infectious dis
eases in Azerbaijan is reportedly under control.
