Baku: Legal measures have been taken against foreigners organizing illegal religious propaganda activities, the State Security Service and the State Migration Service said in a joint statement, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the actions were a result of collaborative efforts by the State Security Service and the State Migration Service, following information about the religious propaganda activities of foreign citizens violating Azerbaijani legislation. It was discovered that foreigners affiliated with a religious center in another country-Shaikh Muhammad Hanif (born in 1968), Kareem Bux (born in 1981), and Channa Taj Muhammad (born in 1968)-were promoting ideas linked to non-traditional religious movements in Azerbaijan. These individuals organized illegal closed religious meetings and ceremonies.
The gathered materials indicated that these foreign citizens were acting against the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Freedom of Religious Belief.” Consequently, their activities were halted, and they were deported from Azerbaijan in accordance with Article 79.1.2 of the Migration Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
