Baku: Azerbaijan has announced an expansion of the capacity of the Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. This major land and sea logistics route connects China and Southeast Asia with Europe through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Trkiye. The Middle Corridor is recognized as a strategic project that covers a wide geographical area and provides the most efficient, safe, and shortest route for transporting cargo between China and Europe.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Middle Corridor was established in February 2014 with the involvement of relevant structures from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Georgia. Over time, additional countries have joined the project, which now starts at the China-Kazakhstan border and extends to Europe. The expansion of this corridor is expected to enhance trade and logistics efficiency across the regions it connects.
