Baku:A significant attempt to smuggle medicines into Azerbaijan has been thwarted through the collaborative efforts of the Main Operational-Investigative Department of the State Customs Committee, alongside the Baku Main Customs Department and the Tovuz Customs Department.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the operation led to the interception of a truck at the ‘Red Bridge’ customs post, which was entering Azerbaijan from Georgia. Upon inspection, authorities discovered 82 types of medicines that had not been declared to customs officials. These medicines were concealed among those officially imported into the country.
The State Customs Committee reported that the value of the undeclared medicines was estimated at 507,000 manats. An investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
