Azerbaijan and UAE Explore New Initiatives for Strategic Partnership

Baku: The second meeting of the Joint Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) convened in Baku. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this development, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the two nations to enhance cooperation in multiple sectors.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting was co-chaired by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev and UAE’s Minister of State Saeed Al Hajeri. A key component of the session was a one-on-one dialogue between Rafiyev and Al Hajeri, which set the stage for a broader discussion involving ambassadors and representatives from relevant state institutions. The participants evaluated reports from subcommittees, focusing on fostering development across various fields.

The discussions included a comprehensive review of the work accomplished since the first committee meeting in Abu Dhabi last November. The co-chairs assessed the achievements and shared perspectives on priority areas and joint projects for the future. They expressed satisfaction with the progress made in implementing the roadmap and action plans established during the initial meeting and emphasized the need for deeper, result-oriented cooperation. The committee agreed to propose new initiatives, enhance existing mechanisms, and fortify the institutional framework of their partnership.

The meeting saw participation from representatives of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, alongside the Ministries of Economy, Energy, Justice, Defense, Internal Affairs, Digital Development and Transport, Science and Education, Culture, and Agriculture. Other attendees included the State Tourism Agency, the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency, SOCAR, the Azerbaijan Investment Holding, and AZCON Holding.
