Baku: Issues of developing defense relations between Azerbaijan and the United States were discussed, APA reports, citing Ministry of Defense. Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Markwayne Mallin, a member of the Armed Forces Committee of the United States Senate, who is visiting the country, along with other members of the House of Representatives.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the meeting organized at the Ministry of Defense, Colonel General Hasanov expressed his satisfaction with the current state of relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, noting that these relations hold special importance for both countries. Markwayne Mallin emphasized that mutual visits and meetings held in various formats are effective in expanding bilateral relations.
The discussions focused on the current state, new opportunities, and development prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States in the military, military-technical, and military education fields. There was also a wide exchange of views on many other issues of mutual interest.
