Ankara: An agreement has been signed between Azerbaijan and Trkiye for the supply of 33 billion cubic meters of gas, stated Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Turkish minister announced the signing of a new natural gas agreement with Azerbaijan two days ago. The agreement entails the supply of 33 billion cubic meters of gas over a period of 15 years. The deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2029, with an annual supply rate of 2.25 billion cubic meters from the Absheron field in the Caspian Sea.
The agreement outlines that the gas will be transported to Trkiye using the existing Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline infrastructure. This operation will extend until the 2040s, ensuring a long-term supply of natural gas to meet Trkiye’s energy needs.
