Azerbaijan and Serbia Discuss Consular Cooperation in Belgrade


Belgrade: The third round of consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia took place in Belgrade, as reported by the Azerbaijan MFA to APA.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Serbian side was represented by Natasa Rasevic, Acting Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs. Discussions focused on the current state and potential areas for development in consular cooperation between the two nations, including the signing of new bilateral agreements.



The consultations included an exchange of views on recent innovations in the consular field, exploring both countries’ experiences and mechanisms in digitalizing consular services. Opportunities for expanding cooperation and applying best practices mutually were also considered. Strengthening relations in migration, justice, education, labor, and social protection was highlighted as essential.



Participants at the meeting shared views and experiences on ensuring effective consular protection for citizens in crisis situations and regulating labor migration.
