Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to put additional efforts towards conclusion of agreement on peace in shortest possible period


“On 26 September 2024 under the initiative and with participation of U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met in New York, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly,” said the press service of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the ministry, the parties agreed to put additional efforts towards the conclusion of the Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations in the shortest possible period.

The Azerbaijani and Armenian sides expressed their gratitude to the Secretary of State for organizing the meeting.

A meeting between Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ararat Mirzoyan, Foreign Minister of Armenia, was held Thursday in New York at the initiative of Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State.

The meeting was held on the margins of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations Gen
eral Assembly.

The last meeting between the parties was held on the sidelines of the NATO 75th Anniversary Summit in Washington D.C. this July at the initiative of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
