Baku: The award ceremony of the Baku Marathon-2025, held under the motto ‘Overcome the Wind’, celebrated the achievements of its participants in a grand event. Male and female runners competed fiercely for the top three positions on the track, with substantial prizes and tokens of recognition at stake.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the winners in both the male and female categories were honored with significant monetary rewards: 3,000 AZN for the first place, 2,000 AZN for the second, and 1,000 AZN for the third. In addition to the cash prizes, winners received medals, certificates, and other gifts. Notably, the first 2,000 participants to complete the race were awarded ‘Baku Marathon 2025’ medals, and certificates were distributed to all marathon participants and the volunteers who played a crucial role in organizing the event.
Furthermore, special awards were given in unique categories such as ‘Be Young’ (sponsored by Azercell) for the first students to finish in both gender categories, as well as awards for ‘The oldest participant to cross the finish line first’ and ‘The first corporate participant to cross the finish line’. An entertainment zone was set up at the National Flag Square, offering a variety of activities including competitions, sports events, and a musical program featuring popular performers, providing entertainment for marathon participants, city residents, and guests alike.
The marathon saw more than 400 volunteers actively involved in its execution, with an additional 500 volunteers from the RIIB (Regional Development Public Union) participating from various regions.
