Average Monthly Salary in Azerbaijan Rises by Over 9%


Baku: In the first six months of 2025, the average monthly nominal salary of wage-employed workers in Azerbaijan’s economy saw an increase of 9.4% compared to the same period in the previous year, reaching 1,097.3 manats. This data was reported by APA-Economics, citing the State Statistical Committee.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the average monthly nominal salary was notably higher in sectors such as the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, information and communication, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as transportation and storage.



As of July 1, 2025, the total number of wage-employed workers in the nation stood at 1,770.8 thousand. Of these, 864.2 thousand were employed in the public sector while 906.6 thousand worked in the non-public sector.



Breaking down the employment statistics further, 18.8% of wage earners worked in trade and repair of motor vehicles, 18.3% in education, and 13.8% in industry. Other sectors included healthcare and social services at 8.5%, construction at 6.7%, public administration and defense; social security at 6.3%, transportation and storage at 4.2%, professional, scientific and technical activities at 3.9%, agriculture, forestry and fishing at 2.4%, financial and insurance activities at 2.3%, with the remaining 14.8% working in various other sectors of the economy.
