Asian Development Bank Appoints Leah Gutierrez as Director General for Central and West Asia Department


Manila: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has announced the appointment of Leah Gutierrez as the Director General of its Central and West Asia Department. This significant appointment was confirmed by ADB to APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Leah Gutierrez will spearhead ADB’s collaborative efforts with 11 countries in the region, including Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Trkiye, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Ms. Gutierrez brings over 40 years of professional experience to her new role, with 25 years dedicated to ADB. Before her current appointment, she held the position of Director General of ADB’s Sector 3 Department, which focuses on finance, human capital and social development, public administration, and governance. She also previously led ADB’s Pacific Regional Department and has held senior roles in the Strategy, Policy and Partnerships Department, Southeast Asia Regional Department, and Secretariat.
