Baku: Azerbaijan is endowed with abundant wind energy, said Mahdi Al-Adel, CEO of Saudi Aramco Ventures, during a panel discussion at the Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, APA-Economics reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Al-Adel emphasized Azerbaijan’s significant potential for renewable energy projects. He mentioned that, while there are ongoing projects in the field, the lack of sun and wind at times necessitates the development of grid-scale energy storage. This, he suggested, presents a promising opportunity for the region. Al-Adel also highlighted that Saudi Aramco Ventures is investing in technologies aimed at reducing carbon footprints, which could be beneficially applied in Azerbaijan to support its renewable energy endeavors.
