Baku: “The composition of the Terminology Commission should be reviewed and its activities should be activated,” said President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), academician, Chairman of the Toponymy Commission Isa Habibbeyli during his speech at the conference “Development Strategy of the Azerbaijani Language as the State Language: Current Status and Prospects.”
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Isa Habibbeyli emphasized the importance of revamping the commission’s structure to enhance its effectiveness. He also highlighted the need for ANAS to assist in reorganizing television programs to better serve linguistic goals. Additionally, Habibbeyli announced the ongoing preparation of an orthoepy dictionary, which will aid in the correct pronunciation of words. Plans are also underway to develop a dictionary of neologisms, aiming to address the evolving linguistic landscape in Azerbaijan.
