Baku: On August 12, Bajram Begaj, President of the Republic of Albania, made a phone call to Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Bajram Begaj congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, commending the signing of the declaration and other documents witnessed by the U.S. President. He emphasized President Aliyev’s role for his determination and leadership in this process and acknowledged the support provided by the U.S. President.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to President Bajram Begaj for the congratulations and highlighted that Azerbaijan initiated the peace agenda and authored the peace agreement text. He underscored the significance of the documents adopted during the Washington meeting in advancing the peace agenda and acknowledged the U.S. President’s supportive role.
During the call, both leaders praised the successful cooperation and mutual support between Azerbaijan and Albania within international organizations.
