Baku: “According to modern diagnostic analyses, unregulated social media use at an early age can lead to various problems in the future,” Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency (MEDIA), said during a public discussion of a draft law proposing amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, the Law “On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information,” and the Law “On Protection of Children from Harmful Information,” APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ahmad Ismayilov highlighted that developed countries are implementing legislative measures to restrict social media use deemed harmful to children, impacting their physical and psychological health.
Ahmad Ismayilov noted that the draft laws being prepared in the country focus on ensuring safer digital environments for children. He emphasized the importance of these draft laws in addressing digital world challenges, complying with ethical standards and international legal norms.
He further stressed the need for state bodies to give serious attention to this issue during the preparation and implementation of the draft laws. Strengthening cooperation among relevant state institutions is considered crucial in this regard.
