More Than 11 Kg of Marijuana Smuggled by Drone from Iran to Azerbaijan Intercepted


Lankaran: The smuggling of more than 11 kilograms of marijuana from Iran to Azerbaijan using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has been thwarted, the State Border Service reported to APA. The interception was a result of coordinated efforts by the border authorities.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Press Center of the State Border Service detailed that the successful prevention of the smuggling attempt was achieved through a series of border search and operational measures. These actions were carried out in the service area of the ‘Lankaran’ border detachment of the Border Troops Command. The operation stopped an attempt to smuggle 11 kilograms and 500 grams of marijuana from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the Republic of Azerbaijan via UAV.



The State Border Service has confirmed that operational and investigative measures concerning the incident are ongoing. The authorities are committed to ensuring that such smuggling attempts are thoroughly investigated and prevented in the future.
