Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan kick off in Astana

Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan has started in Astana, the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The program of events includes exhibitions, concerts, round tables, film screenings and much more. Days of Culture will last until October 29.

The first major event was the opening of the Days of Kyrgyz Cinema in the Keruen shopping mall.

On the same day, a forum of representatives of the intelligentsia of the two countries “Aalam alpy Aitmatov” was held at the National Academic Library. The main purpose of the event is to strengthen humanitarian ties between the two countries. In particular, the parties discussed the role of the work of two great writers Mukhtar Auezov and Chyngyz Aitmatov in intercultural cooperation. The forum was attended by representatives of state bodies, prominent public figures, representatives of the creative and scientific intelligentsia of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

On October 27, the opening of the Bashtoo exhibition will take place at the National Museum of Kazakhstan. Its goal is to familiarize visitors with the works of the largest masters of Kyrgyz art.

Also on this day, a gala concert of Kyrgyz masters of art will be held, an exhibition of the historical and cultural heritage and crafts of Kyrgyzstan will open in the lobby of the theater of the State Academic Kazakh Music and Drama Theater named after K. Kuanyshbaev.

In addition, on October 28, an event dedicated to the Manas epic and concerts will be held.

On the final day of October 29, the solemn closing of the Days of Culture will take place, where the performance of the Kyrgyz National Academic Drama Theater named after Toktobolot Abdymomunov “Samanchynyn Zholu” will be shown.

Ilham Aliyev thanks Sadyr Zhaparov following his state visit to Kyrgyzstan

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a message of thanks to the head of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, following his state visit on October 11-12 this year.

Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the special attention and hospitality, as well as for the truly fraternal attitude towards him and the Azerbaijani delegation.

“I am very satisfied with the results of the visit, which opens a new page in the history of Azerbaijani-Kyrgyz relations. The holding of the first meeting of the Interstate Council during the visit and the signing of documents, in particular, the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund” is a clear example of the growing and comprehensive development of our cooperation.

Taking this opportunity, I once again express my special gratitude to you for the opening of a gymnasium school in Bishkek, named after a great friend of the Kyrgyz people, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, and a school named after Nizami Ganjavi, a great poet and thinker of our people. We appreciate this as a symbol of friendship and brotherhood between the two peoples and as a tribute to the memory of prominent representatives of the Azerbaijani people.

Kyrgyzstan, with which we share a common language, history and culture, is a brotherly country and a strategic partner for us. During the visit, it was especially gratifying to take part in the opening of the Friendship Park of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, which embodies the indestructible ties between our fraternal peoples. Kazakhstan leads in food supplies to Uzbekistan

According to the State Statistics Committee, in January-September 2022, Kazakhstan retained its first place in the list of the main countries supplying food products to Uzbekistan, UzA reported.

The share of Kazakhstan in the total volume of food products imported by Uzbekistan amounted to 36.2 percent. The main demand falls on Kazakh wheat – 1.8 million tons, flour – 280 thousand tons, barley – 73 thousand tons, vegetable oil – 65 thousand tons and potatoes – 49.6 thousand tons. In Uzbekistan, the import of flour is more than 95%.

Sadyr Zhaparov leaves for Kazakhstan to participate in first meeting of leaders of Central Asia and EU

President of Kyrgyzstan Republic Sadyr Zhaparov today, October 27, flew to Astanacity of Kazakhstan for a working visit.

The head of state will take part in the work of the first meeting of leaders “Central Asia – European Union”, hold a number of bilateral meetings at the highest level.

In the evening, President Sadyr Zhaparov will take part in the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The official delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic includes of:

– Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev;

– Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Muratbek Azymbakiev;

– Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Kazakhstan Dastan Dyushekeyev;

– State Secretary Suyunbek Kasmambetov;

– Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Altynbek Maksutov.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov arrived in Astana city of Kazakhstan for a working visit.

The plane of the head of state landed at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport.

During the visit, Sadyr Zhaparov will take part in the work of the First Meeting of Leaders of Central Asia – European Union, hold a number of bilateral meetings at the highest level.

In addition, the head of state will take part in the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kazakhstan.

Plane flying from Tashkent to Dubai makes emergency landing in Iran

The plane of the Fly Dubai airline, operating flight FZ-1942 on the route “Tashkent – Dubai”, was forced to land at the international airport of Shiraz, reported.

Reportedly, flying over the territory of Iran at an altitude of 36 thousand feet, the plane gave a signal “squawk 7700” – a code indicating an emergency on board.

In this regard, the crew decided to land the plane at the nearest airport.

Akylbek Zhaparov and Antje Grawe discuss climate agenda issues

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov received Resident Coordinator of the United Nations (UN) system in the Kyrgyz Republic Antje Grawe.

During the meeting, the head of the Cabinet congratulated Resident Coordinator of the UN system on his appointment to a responsible position, noting the high level of current cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and UN agencies.

Akylbek Zhaparov stressed that at present the Kyrgyz side pays special attention to the issues of sustainable mountain development and conservation of mountain ecosystems, in connection with which 2022 was declared the Year of Protection of Mountain Ecosystems and Climate Resilience.

In turn, the Resident Coordinator of the UN System Antje Grawe congratulated the Kyrgyz Republic on the 30th anniversary of membership in the organization, designating this significant date as a symbol for further expansion of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Antje Grawe assured the Kyrgyz side of the readiness of the UN system in the Kyrgyz Republic to continue working together in various areas of cooperation.

Turkmenistan to export annually 4 bln kWh of electricity to Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan will import 4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity from Turkmenistan, UzDaily reports with reference to the press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov, ORIENT reported.

Asadov said that during the recent visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan, the countries agreed to develop cooperation in the energy sector.

At the end of the high-level talks in Ashgabat, the heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan signed a Declaration on deepening strategic partnership and more than 10 documents on various areas of cooperation.
