Osh Mayor’s Office holds meeting with OSCE delegation

A meeting was held on Thursday between the leadership of the Osh Mayor’s Office and delegation of OSCE delegation, headed by Anton Thomsen, the Political Advisor to the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.

During the meeting the sides discussed the issues of intercultural, interethnic interaction, including the implementation of programs of multilingual education in the framework of the Kyrgyz Zharany (Kyrgyz Citizen) Concept.

In her speech, Deputy Osh Mayor Venera Ryskulova emphasized the importance of the work carried out by the local state bodies to strengthen inter-ethnic relations, issues of brotherhood and peace building, increasing the involvement of representatives of different ethnic groups in the activities of state bodies.

Within the framework of the meeting, following issues were discussed: regulation of migration processes, support of universities with the aim of training teachers on polylingual education, early warning of conflicts and risks, possibilities of strengthening inter-ethnic relations, prevention of radicalization.

OSCE representative Anton Thomsen noted that Kyrgyzstan has shown an example of proper integration into modern global processes, including the introduction of language integration as part of the internal consolidation of society (promoting the study of state language skills of ethnic minorities), continuity and implementation of appropriate strategies at the state level, when there is an understanding of the need for policies for socio-economic participation of different ethnic groups in the integration processes.

As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed to develop bilateral cooperation on the above-mentioned issues.

Akylbek Zhaparov and Mikhail Mishustin had telephone conversation

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

During the conversation, topical issues on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, in particular cooperation in the humanitarian and trade and economic spheres, were discussed.

The sides noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics in the development of the volume of trade between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

67,000 pupils leave schools in Kyrgyzstan this year

Over 103,000 pupils complete the 9th grade, and over 67,000 pupils complete the 11th grade in Kyrgyzstan this year, head of the Department of School and Out-of-School Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the country Samarkul Umralieva told reporters at Kabar Agency.

This year, 47,468 applicants registered in the country for the nationwide testing (excluding applicants planning to take part in additional registration).

The nationwide testing will be held from May 23 to May 26, 2022.

SCO space is largest by total number of tourists in world – Minister Zhamankulov

The SCO space is the largest in terms of the total number of tourists in the world so far, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Zhamankulov said at a meeting of representatives of tourist industry of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, Dunyo News Agency reported.

The meeting participants exchanged opinions on post-SCO situation and rehabilitation process of tourism sphere in each SCO country.

“A proposal to create a unified tourist brand was voiced during the forum. For this purpose we need to solve the issues of transport, visas and other important aspects,” the minister said.

“Our republic has proposed to solve all these issues on the site of the Cultural Integration Center of SCO countries. By decision of SCO heads of state last year, it was decided that the center will be established in Bishkek. We have already prepared a full package of documents. Next week our government will consider them,” Zhamankulov said.

The minister believes that if the center is created, then SCO’s initiatives on culture, sports and tourism will be handled by that organization.

Further, the head of the Kyrgyz Culture Ministry noted that Kyrgyzstan is a very attractive country for all SCO countries.

“We have already taken a number of measures, including launching and improving also electronic visa. We have no problems with this today,” Zhamankulov said.

Speaking about investment and infrastructure issues, Azamat Zhamankulov noted that Kyrgyzstan has created a fund with a capital of KGS 1 billion. This institution will be further engaged in the construction of roadside tourist centers, hotels, as well as attracting investment to those enterprises that have been idle for the past 20 years, did not have good management.

Kyrgyzstan increases frequency of its domestic flights

Flights of TezJet Airlines from Bishkek to Batken are increased from one to two flights per week, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Kyrgyzstan said Friday.

Thus, during a meeting of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev with the airline management, the issue of increasing domestic flights was raised.

“As a result of the work carried out, TezJet flights from Bishkek to Batken were increased from 1 flight to 2 per week. It is also planned to increase flights to Jalal-Abad from June this year,” the report said.

Kazakhstan to increase educational grants by 2025

Kazakhstan plans to increase the number of state scholarships by 50% by 2025,» Deputy PM Yeraly Tugzhanov told the parliamentary hearings on the youth policy held today in Nur-Sultan, Kazinform reported.

Tugzhanov highlighted that 10,000 educational grants will be allocated to the regions. He added that students’ allowances will grow by 20% annually by 2025, and allowances for master’s degree and PhD students will increase by 15%. There are 130,000 students and PhD students in the country. The Deputy PM stressed that one of the pressing issues for students is the lack of dorms. Dorms for 30,000 beds were built over the past three years. Notably, 31 dorms for 10,000 students will be put into operation this year.

First National Forum results in adoption of Osh resolution

The First National Forum Kuttuu El resulted in an adoption of the Osh resolution.

The Forum was held within the framework of decree of President Sadyr Zhaparov “On Spiritual and Moral Development and Physical Upbringing of the Person” at the initiative of Secretary of State of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov and with the support of Mayor of Osh Almaz Mambetov.

During his speech, Secretary of State Suyunbek Kasmambetov noted that the people should not forget their traditions, culture and that the older generation should remind the youth about the foundations, traditions and culture of the Kyrgyz people.

“Our nation has survived to this day because of our values and traditions, by which our ancestors lived. Nowadays, however, people forget about honor, conscience, values, and traditions.

We must never forget that we are descendants of our great ancestors. Our ancestors the Kyrgyz have always been hospitable, always lived in harmony and unity,” the state secretary added.

The main purpose of the forum is to pass on the values of the Kyrgyz people to the next generation, to encourage young people to patriotism, to enter the modern world with the preservation of national values and traditions. The forum also focused on issues of state language, national morality, interethnic unity and harmony.

5 thsd Kyrgyzstanis to leave for South Korea to work

Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan Kudaibergen Bazarbaev held a meeting with President of the Human Resource Development (HRD) Service of South Korea Uh Soo Bong, its General Director Park Dong-Jun and Director Ahn Hong-Min.

The minister noted that Kyrgyzstan intends to take cooperation in the field of labor migration with South Korea to a new level.

“Based on the implementation of the Presidential Decree “On taking measures aimed at improving the migration situation,” our ministry is taking active measures to create conditions for labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan to work in leading countries of the world.

Currently, we have signed agreements with the South Korean side to allocate 5000 quotas for our citizens, this year we are planning to send 1000 Kyrgyz citizens for agricultural work in Great Britain, we also signed an agreement with Germany. We expect that your visit will give a strong impetus to expand cooperation with South Korea,” Minister Bazarbaev said.
