World Stock Markets Show Mixed Results with Notable Gains and Losses


New York: On June 20, the global stock markets witnessed a blend of gains and losses across different regions. In the United States, the Dow Jones index saw a marginal increase of 0.08%, closing at 42,206.82 points. Similarly, the S and P 500 index experienced a rise of 0.22%, reaching 5,967.84 points. On the contrary, the Nasdaq index faced a decline, dropping by 0.51% to settle at 19,447.41 points.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, European markets reflected a varied performance as well. The FTSE 100 index in the UK fell by 0.20%, concluding at 8,774.65 points. Meanwhile, Germany’s DAX index recorded a significant rise of 1.27%, ending at 23,350.55 points. France’s CAC-40 index also saw an increase, going up by 0.48% to close at 7,589.66 points.

In currency exchanges, the euro strengthened against the dollar, with its exchange rate increasing by 0.24% to reach 1.1523 dollars, impacting the global economic landscape.
