World-renowned Irish writer John Boyne visits AZERTAC`s stand


The world-renowned Irish writer John Boyne visited the stand of Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) at the 10th Baku International Book Fair.

In his interview to AZERTAC correspondent, John Boyne noted that it was his first visit to Azerbaijan and that the book fair had piqued his interest significantly.

He is best known for his novel The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, with most of his works focusing on war-related themes. He emphasized that his writing primarily targets young readers.

“My books are not only about war. I also wrote several illustrated books, short stories and works on historical themes. I try to cover a broader range of topics,’ John Boyne underlined.

He commended the presence of a large number of people, young readers, especially teachers, who bring their students to the fair.

As a token of appreciation, AZERTAC presented Boyne with souvenirs.
