Volume of Cargo Cleared by Air Transport Announced

Ankara: An average of 80 tons of import, 5 tons of export, and 600 tons of transit-transfer cargo are cleared through customs by air transport per day, said Rovshan Mahmudzade, head of the customs post of the Logistics Center of the Main Customs Department of Air Transport, in a statement to journalists, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Mahmudzade stated that the transported cargo is primarily sourced from the USA, European countries, and the United Arab Emirates. The Logistics Center is responsible for the customs clearance of imported, exported, and transit cargo entering the country’s territory.

The customs clearance process is facilitated by the Automated Risk Analysis System (ARAS), which ensures the efficient handling of the cargo. This system plays a crucial role in managing the significant volume of goods that pass through the air transport network daily.
