Victim Testifies in Vardanyan War Crimes Trial About Family’s Tragic Fate

Baku: The trial of Ruben Vardanyan, accused of numerous war crimes, has brought harrowing testimonies to light. Murvat Ahmadov, a prominent victim in the case, recounted the traumatic events his family endured during the conflict in Khojaly. Ahmadov shared that they were captured and subjected to violence, and tragically, his father and two brothers were beheaded. The whereabouts of their bodies remain unknown.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ahmadov’s family was displaced from Western Azerbaijan in 1988, eventually settling in Khojaly. However, their ordeal continued as they faced attacks by Armenian forces. Ahmadov’s testimony has highlighted the severe impact of the conflict on civilians and the ongoing search for justice for those affected.
