Vatican city: A delegation led by Tiziano Onesti, President of the Board of Directors of the Bambino Ges¹ Pediatric Hospital, visited Azerbaijan Medical University, signaling a potential new era of collaboration in the field of pediatric healthcare.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Professor Garay Garaybayli, Rector of Azerbaijan Medical University, welcomed the Vatican delegation and provided an overview of the healthcare reforms underway in Azerbaijan. These reforms are designed to foster sustainable growth in the medical sector. During discussions, the rector emphasized the significance of global partnerships in healthcare, particularly in pediatrics, as a means to enhance national health systems through the exchange of contemporary medical expertise.
Tiziano Onesti articulated the purpose of the delegation’s visit, underscoring the importance of strengthening international ties in pediatrics. He expressed a clear intent to work collaboratively with Azerbaijan, including Azerbaijan Medical University, to advance pediatric care.
The discussions covered shared interests and explored potential areas for cooperation. The Vatican delegation also toured the university’s Teaching Surgical Clinic and examined the facilities within the Neonatology Department, gaining insights into the university’s capabilities and infrastructure.
