Baku: The SCO Plus format could emerge as a crucial platform uniting states, regions, and international organizations around a shared agenda, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated during his speech at the SCO Plus meeting, as reported by APA’s correspondent in attendance.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the necessity for the United Nations to maintain its central role in coordinating international relations, with regional structures serving to support its initiatives. He highlighted the importance of a new world order that not only mirrors the global balance of power but also actively aids in resolving regional issues equitably.
The Uzbek President advocated for the development of the SCO Plus format as a vehicle for interregional dialogue. He outlined key areas of focus for this framework, including sustainable development, the integration of advanced technologies, climate change adaptation, human capital development, accessible education, and youth support.
Mirziyoyev also suggested the establishment of an open bank of interregional projects and technologies, targeting sectors such as natural resource use, green energy, digital services, and healthcare. He further discussed how multipolarity in Eurasia should serve to enhance cooperation and create mutual opportunities, rather than fostering division.
