US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mark Libby commented on the recent tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, APA reports.
Mr Ambassador noted that the tension is concerning: “Such incidents show that the situation is likely to worsen. We call on the parties to refrain from escalation and try to start dialogue”.
The diplomat also underlined that the United States has always recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Armenia: “We did not recognize any institution in the territory of Azerbaijan and we voted for the UN resolutions on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.”
