Baku: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on X that he received Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, marking the Minister’s first visit to Ukraine since the onset of Russia’s large-scale invasion.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Bayramov began his visit in Irpin, where he toured a school, a hospital, and a rehabilitation center, all supported by Azerbaijan. President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Bayramov’s visit during challenging times for Ukraine, acknowledging the solidarity shown by Azerbaijan. The meeting covered discussions on the ongoing Russian strikes across Ukraine, the strategic situation in the Black Sea, and Russia’s blockade of grain corridors.
The talks also included high-level diplomatic contacts, defense cooperation, and economic collaboration in several sectors, including energy, oil and gas, and agriculture. President Zelenskyy highlighted Azerbaijan’s support, both in terms of energy and humanitarian assistance, and praised the constructive dialogue between the two nations.
