Ukrainian Millionaire Oleg Krapivin Granted Amnesty, Konstantin Kucher Awaits Sentence Reduction

Baku: In Azerbaijan, Ukrainian millionaire Oleg Krapivin, known in criminal circles as ‘Oleg Bakinsky,’ has been granted amnesty from charges of hooliganism, as confirmed by his lawyer, Kheyransa Babayeva, in a statement to APA. The Khatai District Court released him from a suspended sentence following a review by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Justice’s Probation Service.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Konstantin Kucher, who was charged alongside Oleg Krapivin, is also anticipated to receive amnesty, potentially reducing his sentence by six months. His lawyer, Elshad Aliyev, indicated that the court will soon deliberate on the Probation Service’s presentation regarding his case.

Previously, the Baku Court on Grave Crimes had sentenced Oleg Krapivin to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment. The court applied Article 70 of the Criminal Code, considering his sentence conditional with a probation period of 6 months. Konstantin Kucher, initially acquitted under Article 178.4, was ultimately sentenced to 2 ye
ars and 6 months under Article 221.3.

The state prosecutor had originally sought 14 years of imprisonment for Konstantin Kucher and 3 years for Oleg Krapivin. Oleg Bakinsky’s arrest last year was related to charges of hooliganism against a Russian citizen, leading to charges under Articles 127.2.3 and 221.3 of the Criminal Code. His arrest was later modified to house arrest during the trial.

Konstantin Antonovich Kucher, formerly Deputy Minister of Defense Industry of Ukraine for Aviation Affairs, was found guilty in the same criminal case. He faced charges under Articles 178.4 and 221.3 of the Criminal Code. The victims listed in the case include “Aviazapchast” OJSC, “Promyshlennye Postavki Kazakhstan” LLC, and Zakharenkov Valery Nikolayevich.
