During the riots in Kazakhstan, two Kyrgyz citizens were killed, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The competent structures of the country represented by the security agencies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue to maintain appropriate bilateral contacts with colleagues from Kazakhstan on clarifying the number of Kyrgyz citizens who have found themselves in a difficult legal situation associated with the well-known tragic events.

As of the evening of January 10 of this year, it was established that according to the results of the investigative and procedural measures of the law enforcement forces, 5 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were detained and 2 Kyrgyz citizens were killed during the riots. Contacts have been established with their relatives, the report said.

As a result of a joint investigation of the competent structures of the parties, Vikram Ruzakhunov was released from custody.

At present, the State Committee for National Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic, in cooperation with the relevant structures of Kazakhstan, continue to provide the necessary political and legal assistance and other necessary assistance to the Kyrgyz citizens. Regarding this situation, constant consultations, clarifications are being carried out, and all citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic will be provided with appropriate state support.

Currently, the law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan continue check citizens, including Kyrgyzstan, who are released after the necessary verification measures, and therefore asks compatriots staying in Kazakhstan to show calmness and understanding.
