Two Fatalities and Dozens Injured in Bus Accident on Herat-Kandahar Highway


Herat: At least two commuters lost their lives and 51 others were injured when a crowded passenger bus overturned on a highway in western Afghanistan’s Herat province. The incident occurred Thursday night, as reported by Xinhua, citing Ariana News.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the accident took place on the outskirts of the Adraskan district along the Herat-Kandahar highway. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to reckless driving, resulting in the bus veering off the road and overturning.



Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to assist the injured and transport them to nearby medical facilities. The authorities have launched an investigation into the accident to determine further details and prevent future occurrences.
