Ankara:Claims of an attempt to lower the Turkish flag in Azerbaijan have been dismissed as disinformation by the Turkish Presidency. The Center for Combating Disinformation made this statement in a post, highlighting that reports circulating in some media and social media are misleading.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the footage alleged to show such an incident actually dates back to an earlier period. During that time, Azerbaijani citizens were the first to react strongly to any provocation against the Turkish flag. The post clarified that no incident of lowering the Turkish flag took place.
The Center further stressed that presenting outdated footage as a recent event and spreading it without context aims to undermine the friendly relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan. The public has been urged to remain cautious and alert to such manipulative tactics.
