Baku: Trkiye’s Mechanical and Chemical Industries company (Makina and Kimya Endstrisi Kurumu) has officially commenced its operations in Azerbaijan, Trend reports. The Turkish Ministry of National Defense shared this development through a communiqu© on its official X platform.
According to Trend News Agency, the communiqu© highlighted that the company, established in Azerbaijan under the name ‘Makina ve Kimya Azerbaijan (MKA)’ by the Mechanical and Chemical Industries Cooperation (MKE), marks its first international venture. The Mechanical and Chemical Industries Corporation (MKE), founded in 1950 and with historical roots in the Ottoman Empire’s cannon foundries, is Turkey’s state-owned defense company under the Ministry of National Defense.
MKE plays a crucial role as a supplier for the Turkish Armed Forces and has a significant presence in global defense exports. The company produces an extensive range of defense products, including assault rifles, ammunition, artillery systems, land mines, explosives, and rockets. With its headquarters located in Ankara, MKE is recognized as a prominent leader in the defense industry.
