Istanbul: Trkiye’s exports to its border neighbors, including Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Greece, have seen a notable increase of 4% in the period from January to July compared to the same timeframe last year. They have reached nearly 15.6 billion dollars, as reported by Anadolu Agency and cited by Trkiye’s Ministry of Trade, APA-Economics reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the total exports from Trkiye to these neighboring countries amounted to 15 billion 592 million 919 thousand US dollars during January to July. This represents an increase from the 14 billion 972 million 416 thousand dollars recorded in the same period of the previous year. The year-on-year export growth to these countries stands at 4%.
The report highlights that Iraq emerged as Trkiye’s largest export neighbor during the reporting period, with exports totaling approximately 5.7 billion dollars. Bulgaria followed in second place with exports worth 2.6 billion dollars, Greece ranked third with 2.1 billion dollars, and Georgia secured the fourth position with 1.4 billion dollars.
The data further reveals that the highest annual export growth rates from January to July were recorded with Syria at 49.3%, Greece at 11.5%, and Azerbaijan at 9.5%.
It is important to note that the calculations are based on data involving Trkiye’s border neighbors Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Greece. Due to the absence of official data, trade with the region of Nakhchivan has not been included in these calculations. Additionally, there is no direct official land trade between Trkiye and Armenia.
