Baku:The State Security Service (SSS) has issued a warning about ongoing cyber-fraud incidents involving artificial intelligence, as reported by the Press Service of SSS to APA.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, organized cyber-criminal networks from outside the country are using advanced artificial intelligence technologies to conduct sophisticated cyber-attacks. These attacks primarily target civil servants, employees across various sectors, and ordinary citizens.
Analyses have revealed that these cybercriminals use AI algorithms and specialized software to craft convincing “urgent” and “important” messages. Victims are then misled into interacting with fake accounts masquerading as official entities, such as law enforcement agencies, and are coerced into transferring money to foreign accounts or engaging in illegal activities.
Citizens are urged to exercise extreme caution and vigilance online. The SSS advises that any suspicious inquiries, requests, or messages should be reported to law enforcement agencies immediately.
