Baku: Proposed amendments to the Law on Road Traffic were discussed at a recent meeting of the Milli Majlis, introducing separate speed regulations for toll motorways. Under these draft amendments, passenger cars and freight vehicles with a maximum weight of up to 3.5 tons operating outside residential areas will have a speed limit of no more than 130 kilometers per hour.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, other buses, passenger cars towing trailers, and freight vehicles with a maximum weight exceeding 3.5 tons will have a maximum speed limit of 90 kilometers per hour. The draft amendments were put to a vote and adopted in the third reading, indicating a move towards implementing these new speed regulations on Azerbaijan’s toll roads.
