Baku: As part of her working visit to Serbia, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Fondly recalling his visit to Azerbaijan and his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud emphasized the importance of the negotiations held, as well as the documents signed during that visit.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, both sides commended the role of interparliamentary ties as an essential pillar of interstate relations. Speaker Sahiba Gafarova reaffirmed the readiness of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis to further enhance relations with the Somali parliament. The Speaker of the Milli Majlis highlighted the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM PN).
During the conversation, the sides also discussed the prospects for enhancing relations between Azerbaijan and Somalia, interparliamentary cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
