Baku: After the interruptions in Russian diesel exports, Azerbaijan is emerging as a regional alternative fuel supplier, APA-Economics reports, citing S and P Global. It was noted that as a result of drone attacks on Russian oil refineries, serious interruptions occurred in the country’s diesel fuel exports. The attacks damaged 17 refineries, pipeline stations and Baltic Sea terminals. This situation has complicated diesel supplies in Brazil, as well as in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Central Asia.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, market sources indicate that Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan are currently looking for alternative options for diesel fuel supplies from Iran, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan. In other words, the current situation puts Azerbaijan at the forefront as a regional alternative fuel supplier.
