Beijing: President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic hinted at a possible resignation during a visit to China. Speaking to journalists in Beijing, Vucic mentioned that his presidential mandate is nearing its conclusion and suggested that he might step down sooner than expected. “Maybe I will resign soon,” he stated.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Vucic clarified that he would not follow the path of former president Boris Tadic, who resigned in 2012, ten months before the end of his term. Tadic’s resignation was intended to synchronize presidential and parliamentary elections to bolster his party’s position. Vucic’s comments have sparked discussions about potential political shifts in Serbia.
