Romanian Expert Stresses Strategic Importance of South Caucasus for Europe

Romania: Romania’s ‘Cotidianul’ publication has published an article by political analyst Mihai Isak, where he highlighted the strategic importance of the South Caucasus region, namely Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia, to Europe in seeking alternative energy sources, transport routes, and access to Central Asia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the analyst underscored that the South Caucasus emerges as a major platform in ensuring Europe’s energy security and shaping new logistic routes, with Azerbaijan playing a key role in this regard. The article further emphasized Azerbaijan’s strategic importance in the region, highlighting the country as a reliable gas supplier for Europe.

Mihai Isak also pointed out Europe’s growing interest in alternative energy sources, thus increasing Azerbaijan’s geoeconomic significance. In conclusion, the expert urged the European countries, including Romania, to benefit from the energy and transport routes emerging in the South Caucasus, particularly with the participation of Azerbaijan.
