Ramiz Mehdiyev Dismissed from Deputy Chairman Role at Azerbaijani Language Commission


Baku: Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev has been dismissed from his position as Deputy Chairman of the State Language Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports. The decision to remove Mehdiyev from his post was made official with an order signed on November 12.



According to Azeri-Press news agency, Mehdiyev is currently facing charges under Articles 278.1, 274, and 193-1.3.2 of the Criminal Code, which relate to acts aimed at seizing state power, treason, and the legalization of property obtained by crime, respectively. On October 14, the Sabail District Court of Baku city ruled on the criminal case against Ramiz Mehdiyev. The court decided to grant the petition filed against him, leading to a house arrest measure set for a duration of four months.



Furthermore, Ramiz Anvar oglu Mehdiyev has also been relieved of his membership in the Security Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
