President of Azerbaijan Strengthens Bilateral Ties with UAE Delegation

Gabala: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation from the United Arab Emirates led by Saeed Bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE. The meeting underscored the strategic partnership between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the successful development of bilateral relations, highlighting his personal rapport with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Aliyev recounted fond memories of mutual visits, including those to Garabagh, which have been pivotal in expanding bilateral ties.

Saeed Bin Mubarak Al Hajeri arrived in Azerbaijan with a substantial delegation, underscoring the importance of the visit in deepening bilateral relations. He conveyed greetings from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Aliyev, who reciprocated with his own greetings.

The UAE Minister congratulated President Aliyev on receiving the ‘Gernika Award for Peace and Reconciliation’ for his contributions to peace in the South Caucasus region. Aliyev expressed gratitude and recalled his receipt of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, which honors the legacy of UAE’s founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The meeting also highlighted a rich bilateral agenda, with discussions on cooperation in political, economic, and military areas, including renewable energy, joint investment, and military exercises. The conversation touched upon the situation in the Middle East, stressing the importance of diplomatic solutions.
