Copenhagen: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Copenhagen. President Zelenskyy extended his congratulations to President Aliyev on the progress made in Washington concerning the peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the congratulations and emphasized the historic importance of the steps being taken to further the peace agenda. He affirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to continuing efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region. The meeting also underscored Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, with particular attention given to support for Ukrainian children, a gesture appreciated by the Ukrainian side.
The leaders also discussed cooperation in the energy sector, exploring opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.
