President Ilham Aliyev: The Organization of Turkic States Has Great Potential

Baku: “The Organization of Turkic States has great potential,” stated Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during his interview with Al Arabiya TV channel, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s straightforward approach in reinforcing the organization. Initially established as a consultative group or council, the organization has since evolved significantly. Aliyev emphasized the enhanced ties with Trkiye, formalized through the Alliance Declaration signed with President Erdogan in Shusha in 2021, marking both nations as military and political allies. This legal framework is significant not only for Azerbaijan and Trkiye but also for the broader Turkish world.

The President further noted agreements with Uzbekistan and other member states of the Organization of Turkic States. These strategic partnerships and declarations underscore the unique foundation of the organization, rooted in common Turkic ethnicity. Aliyev pointed out the advantage of a growing population when supported by economic development, and he remarked on the natural resources present in many, though not all, member countries, contributing to their prosperity.
